Now, he is getting a second chance.
Flack, who was cut by the Baltimore Ravens last week, has started three games this season, throwing for 836 yards and four touchdowns in three contests, including two touchdowns in a 31-23 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Flack, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2016 draft, threw for 3,894 yards and 29 touchdowns in the 2015 season.
The Dolphins (7-5) are coming off their longest winning streak since winning seven straight from 2000-03.
Flap has averaged 23.0 points and 7.5 yards per game in the last two games, with five rushing touchdowns and one interception.
He has completed 60.6 percent of his passes in three games against the Patriots (3-7), including 53.4 percent in last week’s victory over New England.
Flahdistough has a career passer rating of 103.8.
