A former rugby league player has died after a heart attack at his home.
The 21-year-old died early on Wednesday at his Melbourne home after being admitted to hospital following the incident in a Melbourne apartment.
A source close to the player’s family said he was in stable condition.
The man’s death has been ruled a suicide.
The player, who was born in Sydney, was not a member of the Sydney University Football Club.
The university said it was deeply saddened by the passing of former Sydney University footballer, Ryan Moseley.
“Ryan was a great athlete and a great person,” Sydney University’s head of sports and entertainment, Andrew Lachapelle, said in a statement.
“He will be sorely missed by his teammates, family and friends.
We will be keeping Ryan’s family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
“We are deeply saddened at the loss of a great player who made a huge impact on many lives and a tremendous impact on our game. “
